I know that this is your game and you can set it up any way you'd like, but, these anagrams with at least 7 letters have to go as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure those young college students do very well with them. But not all of us are young college people. I don't mind a challenge. I'm all for that, but let's be realistic here. We're not all that bright. Give the resrt of us a break. Especially since I'm paying for this. At least I hope you'll think about it. djmom

I'm a college student, but not even I can think up over 400 anagrams. but ahh, it's your game.

I am a good player but to have both anagrams be that long is not fun either.

Todays anagram sucks. I don't think it is a matter of being bright but it is about having fun without having to stress out over a game. I guess I will just go play poker at all in play.

You are all never happy. Seriously before it was too easy now it's too hard. I can't play anagrams to save my life and I'm a college player to be honest the best players I know are over the 40 year old mark too so there goes your argument about being too young. Nobody tells you to get them alll. Get pver it.... It's a game

I went to college, but, honestly, I play anagrams to relax. I much prefer 3 letter minimums. That way there's more words to find, and I can play for a longer period.

I think they do a good job of varying the anagrams from day to day, both in terms of length of words given and length of words we are expected to find. It shouldn't be too easy every day or too hard every day, and I think the balance has been good.

Here's exactly what is going to happen if we don't do it this way. If we start doing more of one than another, then people will complain that we aren't doing big enough words. Since we can't cater to the wants of every one of the 100 people or so that play the anagram mania, nor the 25 or so that play extreme, we make efforts to try and make everyone happy some of the time. Perhaps going to allinplay or playing a different game isn't such a bad idea somedays. That's exactly what I would do if there was a word I didn't like.

how about anagram mania is short words, and then extreme is the long words....like 7 letters. so far, i can't seem to notice a diffrence with the 2 diffrent games. and anyway, gave up with it ages ago. much prefer hangman

Only premium members can play the extreme game, so standard members would never be challenged if the standard game was always easy.

Thanks for all the opinions. I see everyone's point. Yes, I agree there should be variance with the length of word we are working from. but personally, I think the shorter length words we're required to make helps those of us who like to play longer. We can find more words and spend more time doing it. It's a game and not supposed to sstress us out. That's my opinion though. I hope those who are putting the game together will think about that when they're planning. If you find spelling errors in this, then you can see why I can't seem to do well with the longer minimum words. Ha! Donna e

yeah becky, that's a good point. well... alternate the days, so that 1 time the premiums get the hard word, then the standards

*agrees with post 7* There's a fair mix of easy and more difficult anagrams. If you don't like the word, wait until the next day. You get a whole new chance.

Post 14 by blbobby (Ooo you're gona like this!) on Thursday, 03-Apr-2008 20:46:34

Since I only know easy words, and Scott is bright as hell, you folks should get a happy mix of anagrams.

Seriously, I will try to do a better mix of short and long words.

Thanks.
